Feed the Future Climate Resilient Cereals Innovation Lab Request for Concept Notes
October 1st, 2024

The Climate Resilient Crops Innovation Lab (CRCIL) Management Entity is inviting Concept Notes for competitive research sub-awards addressing one or more of the Areas of Inquiry and focusing on one or more of the target cereals within Bangladesh (rice), Ethiopia (sorghum and wheat), and Senegal (pearl millet, rice, sorghum, and wheat). CRCIL has three Areas of Inquiry, including allele/haplotype discovery, allele/haplotype validation, and transfer of climate-resilient alleles/haplotypes into elite breeding germplasm. Selected Concept Notes will be invited to submit full proposals for consideration of funding. Proposals should be up to 3.5 years (the project must end by July 31, 2028), and the maximum funding level for each project is $700,000 USD. The Management Entity seeks to create a diverse portfolio of projects across the Areas of Inquiry and proposals between $200,000-$500,000 USD are strongly encouraged. Concept Notes will be due by 3:00 pm central time (21:00 GMT) on October 1, 2024. Interested applicants are encouraged to attend an Agrilinks webinar on August 29 or view the recording after that date available at www.ksu.edu/crcil.
